SUMMARY
Viagra is a pharmaceutical product that helps men with problems of impotence. Viagra helps men achieve an erection that allows them to engage in normal sexual activity. Viagra at recommended doses has no effect in the absence of sexual stimulation.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For most men, the recommended dose is 50 mg, taken as needed, approximately 1 hour before sexual activity. This represents one half of the usual 100 mg tablet. Based on effectiveness and
tolerance, the dose may be increased to a maximum recommended dose of 100 mg, or decreased to 25 mg.
Viagra is rapidly absorbed. Maximum effect occurs between 30 to 120 minutes of taking Viagra.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
You should not use Viagra if you are taking organic nitrates for heart problems. Also, if you have serious heart problems, you should consult your doctor about the use of Viagra. You should use Viagra with caution if you have had a heart attack, stroke or arrhythmia, or if you have low blood pressure.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
The most common side effects of Viagra are: headache, flushing, upset stomach and nasal congestion, in the event of an erection that persists longer than 4 hours, you should seek immediate medical assistance.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Certain medications increase the blood levels of Viagra. These include erythromycin, cimetidine, saquinavir, ritonavir, ketoconazole and itraconizole.
